Portugal is one of the international markets where the JMA brand is most widespread. This has been the case for several decades and the brand continues to gain popularity among both locksmithing professionals and consumers throughout Portugal. This success is down to JMA Portugal, which was set up in 2000 as a subsidiary of Altuna Group to increase penetration in this market via its own commercial and logistics network. From 25 to 27 May, JMA Portugal will be attending the ELF Convention in Porto. This will be the perfect opportunity to assess the positive reaction from the Portuguese market to the new JMA products.
"JMA has gone from being a minority brand to a major benchmark for Portuguese locksmiths. This stems from all the hard work we've done over the last nearly 20 years. I believe that the key is to maintain constant contact with customers through the commercial and technical support we provide. Furthermore, we are capable of filling any order within 24 hours, which is undoubtedly a big plus for the customer", says Cándido Villar, Managing Director of JMA Portugal.
Locksmiths in search of innovation
Cándido Villar says that Portuguese locksmiths "are well-trained and highly knowledgeable about the sector, they like to be on the cutting edge and pay close attention to the latest technological breakthroughs so they can offer them to consumers". This is why the latest products, such as the MULTICODE electronic key duplicator or the M-BT remote control from JMA, are perceived by the market as a response to the needs of those professionals seeking innovation.
Cándido Villar runs a team of 10 people who have been working at new premises since 2015, which was necessary in order to respond to the growing demand for products from the brand. 800 m2 of space with room not only for offices and a depot but also for training rooms, the technical service and a showroom. "We have a wide variety of keys in stock, which puts us in an advantageous position for filling the orders we receive. Neither should we forget about our rapid key, remote control and vehicle key duplicator machines service based on JMA transponder technology", says Cándido Villar.
Presence at the ELF Convention
All these product lines will be at the JMA Portugal stand at the ELF Convention, which will take place from 25 to 27 May in Porto, an event that Cándido Villar expects to be attended by a large professional audience. "Portuguese customers are loyal to this kind of event, so our entire sales team will be at the show. We look forward to seeing you at Stand 17 on the second floor of the Porto Palacio Congress Hotel, which is hosting the event".
Besides the JMA brand, JMA Portugal will be exhibiting IFAM products at its stand. "This brand is well-known for the excellent quality and variety of its padlocks, and is taking huge strides with its line of cylinders for doors, such as the new high-security WX1000".
Other news
In January, Dulio Vásquez and Rober Criollo, representatives from Cerrajería Vasquez (Lima) and Cerrajería La Llave-Kar (Piura), and clients of JMA Peru, were treated to a trip to visit to the JMA Mexico manufacturing plant.
Via SKS (its UK subsidiary), JMA attended another edition of MLA Expo between 4 and 6 October. It was a highly successful trade fair for the company in terms of visitors to the stand and new contacts made, as was to be expected from one of the largest events in the locksmithing sector.
JMA Portugal attended the first edition of the APECSS Meeting Expo in September, which took place in the city of Troia. Organised by the Portuguese Association of Key and Security System Companies, the event was attended by the most important companies in this sector in the country. At one of the main stands at the event, JMA attracted numerous professionals to its space.
The summer season usually means plenty of trade fair activity for JMA Mexico. Large crowds visit its stands and significant interest is generated in its products at every event. The three trade fairs attended by the brand between June and September were a clear sign of that.
